    JOB DESCRIPTION

    The Office of the Attorney General (“OAG”) has an opening for an Assistant Attorney General within the Litigation Division in the Augusta Office. This position will primarily represent the State of Maine in high-impact civil litigation in federal district and appellate courts involving issues of significant state and national importance, including public health, environmental protection, education, immigration, reproductive rights, privacy, voting rights, and defending the rule of law. This position will work closely with attorneys from other divisions of the OAG and with attorneys from offices of other state attorneys general.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Applicants must be members of the Maine Bar in good standing, have an eye for legal detail, be interested in complex state and federal litigation, have strong legal advocacy and writing skills, and a demonstrated ability to function effectively as part of a team. At least three years of legal practice with demonstrated proficiency in civil litigation is preferred.
