    Description

    Senior Accountant

    A client of ours is looking for a Senior Accountant for a contract role. This role is essential to managing key accounting functions including inventory accounting, month-end close, and account reconciliations. You will also support audit readiness, process improvements, and financial analysis in compliance with GAAP.

     

    Responsibilities of Senior Accountant

     

    + Perform monthly close activities: journal entries, accruals, allocations, intercompany transactions, and financial analysis.

    + Prepare and maintain detailed general ledger account reconciliations.

    + Calculate and manage inventory reserves and analyze inventory-related activity.

    + Support external audits and coordinate internal documentation requests.

    + Assist with system testing, ERP integration, and process improvement initiatives.

    + Collaborate with FP& A to ensure accurate financial reporting and forecasting.

    Requirements

    Skills/Qualifications of Senior Accountant

     

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s, CPA or CMA a plus)

    + 5+ years in a senior-level accounting role or 7+ years total accounting experience, preferably in a mid-sized or distribution environment

    + Strong knowledge of GAAP and inventory accounting practices

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; SQL experience preferred

    + Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools

    + Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

    + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    + Effective communicator and team collaborator
