Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Washington, District of Columbia. This long-term contract position offers the opportunity to support essential financial operations within a non-profit organization. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial documentation, processing transactions, and supporting daily accounting functions.
Responsibilities:
• Process invoices accurately and ensure timely payments to vendors.
• Manage accounts receivable by tracking incoming payments and resolving discrepancies.
• Reconcile financial statements and accounts to maintain precise financial records.
• Assist with billing operations and ensure invoices are issued correctly and on time.
• Perform data entry tasks to update and maintain accounting databases.
• Support accounts payable processes, including verifying and recording expenses.
• Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, and Oracle to manage financial data.
• Collaborate with team members to address accounting-related inquiries and provide solutions.
• Maintain and organize financial records to ensure compliance with organizational policies.
• Contribute to monthly and annual reporting by preparing necessary financial documentation. Requirements • Proven experience in accounting or a related field, with a focus on accounts payable and receivable.
• Proficiency in accounting software, including QuickBooks, SAP, and Oracle.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create and analyze spreadsheets.
• Familiarity with invoice processing, billing, and account reconciliation procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in managing financial data.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and address financial inquiries.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of organization and efficiency.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
