Description
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our team in Dallas, Texas. This role is pivotal in overseeing and enhancing accounting operations while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in financial management, organizational leadership, and analytical problem-solving.
Responsibilities:
• Supervise and lead a team of approximately 10 staff members to ensure efficient workflow and productivity.
• Oversee and coordinate all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and human resources functions.
• Manage corporate insurance planning and ensure proper coverage for organizational needs.
• Conduct inventory analysis and implement cost accounting practices to support manufacturing and distribution processes.
• Establish, enforce, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
• Handle cash management and financing activities involving multiple banking relationships.
• Assist in preparing year-end reviews, 401k audits, corporate tax returns, and annual company valuations in collaboration with the Controller.
• Evaluate data analytically to enforce policies, streamline procedures, and make informed decisions.
• Utilize accounting software systems, including ADP, Concur, and Crystal Reports, to manage financial operations efficiently.
• Support 401k administration processes and facilitate annual audits.
Requirements • Proven experience in accounting and financial management, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Familiarity with 401k administration and corporate insurance planning.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems such as ADP, Concur, and Crystal Reports.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
• Ability to supervise and lead teams effectively, fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in cost accounting and inventory analysis.
• Skilled in cash management and working with multiple banks for financing purposes.
• Analytical mindset with a focus on evaluating data and enforcing internal policies and procedures.
