Description

We are looking for a seasoned Senior F5 Network Engineer with expertise in F5 application delivery technologies and hands-on experience with .NET 5 application deployment, integration, and optimization, in the Houston Area. This position bridges infrastructure and application performance, ensuring secure, scalable, and highly available application delivery using F5 platforms. The role requires a strong understanding of how .NET 5-based services are developed, deployed, and managed in enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Design, configure, and maintain F5 BIG-IP infrastructure with a focus on modules such as LTM (Local Traffic Manager), ASM (Application Security Manager), APM (Access Policy Manager), and GTM (Global Traffic Manager/DNS).

+ Develop iRules, iApps, and traffic policies to address advanced load balancing and security needs.

+ Streamline and optimize .NET 5 application traffic flows through F5 devices to ensure high availability and peak performance.

+ Collaborate with development teams to align application architecture with F5 integration strategies.

+ Automate F5 configurations using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or the F5 Automation Toolchain (AS3/DO).

+ Manage TLS/SSL offloading, certificate lifecycle, and encryption protocols within F5 environments.

+ Contribute to architectural discussions around cloud-native .NET 5 services (containers, microservices) and integrate F5 solutions to enhance security, scalability, and performance.

+ Monitor application availability and F5 infrastructure health using tools like Splunk, SolarWinds, or F5 native analytics.

+ Perform routine updates, patching, backups, and upgrades of F5 devices.

+ Mentor junior engineers while providing Level 3 networking and application delivery support.

Requirements

Required Skills & Experience:

+ 7+ years of networking experience, with 5+ years working specifically with F5 BIG-IP platforms.

+ Advanced understanding of F5 modules (LTM, ASM, APM, GTM) and expertise in load balancing, traffic shaping, and security policies.

+ Knowledge of .NET 5 runtime environments, REST APIs, and web application architectures.

+ Solid foundation in TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, load balancing algorithms, and web security principles, including familiarity with the OWASP Top 10.

+ Experience integrating .NET 5 applications with CI/CD pipelines, optimizing F5 configurations for testing and production environments.

+ Working knowledge of automation and IaC tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Python, or F5 Automation Toolchain.

+ Exposure to cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP, including their application delivery solutions such as Azure Front Door or AWS ALB/NLB.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Certifications: F5 Certified Technology Specialist (F5-CTS) or F5 Certified Solution Expert (F5-CSE).

+ Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer.

+ Expertise in containerized applications using Docker or Kubernetes for .NET 5 services.

+ Proficient in scripting with PowerShell, Python, or Bash.

+ Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms.
