Laboratory Director opportunity in beautiful Hamilton, Montana!!
Bitterroot Health is seeking candidates for a Laboratory Director position. The Laboratory Director is responsible for direction and coordination of the personnel in Clinical Laboratory services. Activities supervised include patient relations, laboratory registration and data entry, result reporting, collection of samples, and performance of chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests performed by the laboratory to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases. This position ensures that services are of high quality, are cost-effective and are carried out in an expeditious manner that meets or exceeds patient expectations. The Director serves as a reference for questions or complicated situations brought up by laboratory staff members, and assists with determining which problems require referral to the laboratory pathologist. This position maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in quality improvement activities; constructs, monitors and optimizes the laboratory budget in a fiscally responsible manner. The Director maintains effective physician and interdepartmental relations and serves as laboratory representative to administration and the hospital board of directors.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology or Chemistry.
+ Licensure/Certification: MLS(CLS/MT)/ASCP certification
+ Current Clinical Laboratory Scientist license in the State of Montana
+ Job Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Advance computer knowledge in both general applications and specific past experience with LIS systems
+ Experience: Recent managerial experience in the clinical laboratory of a hospital; people management required. Prefer experience with regulatory and accreditation of laboratory operations.
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week
