**TITLE:** A Mechanic

**REPORTS TO:** Plant Engineering Manager

**POSITIONS:** (1) 10:30PM-6:30AM

**RATE:** $26.73/hr. - $28.23/hr.

General Responsibilities:

+ Focus on maintenance activities and crew leadership

Specific Duties:

+ Conveyor systems: Troubleshoot issues related to conveyor systems, belting, bearings, shafts, rollers, frames and legs, motors, gearboxes, pulleys, V-belts, cog belts, sensors, railings, chains, sprockets, buckets, fences, traffic stops, E-stops, and supply power.

+ Packaging machinery: Troubleshoot and repair issues related to jaws, jaw alignment, jaw heaters, jaw cylinders, jaw guide bearings, seals, hole punches, hole punch heaters, knives, knife timing, knife linkage, back seal bars, back seal irons, back seal heaters, thermocouples, heater controllers, variable frequency drives, rollers, formers, brakes, drives, motors, gearboxes, turntables, air cylinders, pneumatic systems, solenoid valves, flow control valves, linkages, ball joints, ball swivels, chains, carriages, sprockets, code daters, code date heaters, film rollers, delivery chutes, timing, stroke and lubrication.

+ Pumps: Troubleshoot and repair issues related to piping, couplings, motors, impellers, shafts, bearings, check valves, strainers, mechanical seals, packing seals, alignment, gauges and flow monitor

+ Gear reduction boxes: Troubleshoot and repair issues related to motors, sprockets, V-belts, V-belt sheaves, spline or cog type belts, spline or cog type pulleys, chains, shafts, bearings, gears, electrical issues, rollers, oil levels, lubrication, vents, seals, shims, covers, bolting, keys and keyways.

+ HVAC Systems: Troubleshoot and repairs issues related to fans, fan motors, filters, filter housings, ducting, vents, dampers, damper motors, damper linkages, thermostats, control circuits, timers, relays, fan housings, water tubes, evaporative coolers, evaporative cooler pumps, evaporative cooler pump filters, evaporative cooler pump piping, evaporative cooler pump valves, evaporative cooler pump chemicals, evaporative cooler water systems, breakers, unit housings and unit mountings.

+ Boiler and Heat Exchanger: Troubleshoot and repair issues related to the RO system, soft water system, city water system, city water booster pumps, pre-filters, flow regulators, surge tank, surge tank valves, surge tank piping, surge tank valves, boiler feed pumps, boiler feed pump piping, boiler feed pump valves, boiler water controls, boiler water level controls, sight glasses, safety valves, regulators, gas supply, gas regulators, gas modulating valves, gas shutoff valves, air emissions system, fans, blowers, flanges, hot oil pump, hot oil piping, hot oil pre heater, boiler controls, boiler electrical, heat exchanger controls, heat exchanger electrical, scrubber, scrubber fan, scrubber water system, scrubber valves, scrubber, flow gauges, pressure gauges, scrubber water pumps and motors, scrubber operation and scrubber electrical system.

+ Air handling and air compressor systems: Troubleshoot and repair issues related to air compressors, air compressor filters, air compressor air dryers, air gauges, air regulators, piping, valves, tubing, solenoids, solenoid controls, air fittings, air cylinders, oilers, pre-filters, paper filters, carbon filters, ball valves, air nozzles, air hoses, air pressure tank, automatic water traps, automatic oil traps, air compressor controls, air compressor circuits, breakers and relays.

+ Sorters: Troubleshoot and repair issues related to sorters, perforated plates, corn sizing equipment, Sortex sorters, Sortex feed systems, corn feed systems to sorters, piping, tubing, diverters, shaker trays, hoppers, level indicators, level sensors, conveyors, bucket elevators and motor and gearboxes.

+ Processing Machinery: Troubleshoot and repair issues related to processing machinery, cooker, peeler, soak tanks, de-stoner, heat exchanger, boiler, conveyors, gearboxes, motors, chains, sprockets, bearings, solenoids, solenoid valves, flights, shaker trays, cooling box, incline conveyors, fans, motors, pumps, piping, tubing, valves, level indicators, sensors, control panels, electrical and electronic issues.

+ Able to fabricate metal chain guards, delivery chutes, conveyor covers, rails, brackets, covers, stands, tables, baskets, piping, tubing, ducting, hoppers, funnels, conveyor tables, stairs and platforms.

+ Must be able to troubleshoot primary electrical systems.

+ Able to use hand power tools and shop power tools in a safe and proficient manner during fabrication, repairs or modifications to plant and/or plant equipment.

+ Perform all other duties as assigned by management

Minimum Requirements:

+ Must have verifiable exp. inmechanical repair & troubleshooting, electrical, welding, fabrication and using shop power and hand tools.

+ Must have Industrial Maintenance Certification

+ Must know how to use a computer (word, excel, email.)

+ Excellent communication skills (oral & written).
