Job Title: Revit Drafter
Job Description
The BIM Lead plays a crucial role in enhancing productivity and visualization of construction documents using Building Information Modeling (BIM) and other software technologies. Collaborating with design members, Project Managers, and jobsite Foremen, the BIM Lead will develop both 2D and 3D drawings for construction layouts and support cost estimating processes.
Responsibilities
+ Develop Revit model families for general and project-specific needs.
+ Produce shop drawings, submittal drawings, as-built drawings, and other necessary project documents.
+ Attend coordination meetings internally and externally to identify and eliminate potential issues early in the process.
+ Represent the company professionally at BIM coordination and clash detection meetings, working with the project team to coordinate work and meet BIM requirements.
+ Assist with the coordination and management of electronic project files.
+ Utilize software such as Revit, MEP, Navisworks, MS Office, Bluebeam, and Robotic Total Station Software to model the project’s electrical system components.
+ Create installation drawings for jobsite personnel.
+ Coordinate installation with other trades.
+ Provide information for sub-assembly and prefabrication.
+ Complete specific project requirements and support large projects with electrical contracts over 15M.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency with Revit and Navisworks software.
+ Understanding of building layouts and ability to read blueprints.
+ Electrical knowledge, including basic wiring diagrams, NEC codes, and electrical layouts.
+ Ability to draw conduit, circuit elements, and panel schedules in Revit.
+ Experience with MEP systems in commercial settings.
+ Drive for results, positive attitude, task-oriented, team player.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 2+ years of Revit experience.
+ Experience working for a manufacturer or contractor.
+ Ability to build electrical families in Revit.
+ Associates degree in a related field.
+ Forward-thinking with a drive for process improvements.
+ Ability to multitask and manage large projects and smaller side projects efficiently.
+ Experience training and mentoring junior staff.
Work Environment
The position involves supporting the Electrical Division for industrial layout work in construction projects such as chocolate factories, cheese factories, food processing facilities, schools, hospitals, and other commercial work. Initially, the role will require working in Madison for the first six months, with a preference to be based in Pewaukee long-term. The team consists of six Revit Technicians and one Manager, fostering a culture of family-owned passion for forward-thinking design and efficiency. The dress code is business casual, and the hours are flexible within the first shift
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $56.00/hr.
