    Job Title: Software Engineer 1Job Description

     

    Join a dynamic team dedicated to supporting the U.S. Missile Defense System through the development of Modeling and Simulation applications. As part of the SWDC program, you will contribute to warfighter training, concept evaluation, developmental engineering, testing, verification, and assessment. In this role, you will support the Missile Defense Space Warning Tool (MDST) project as part of the WSS team, designing, developing, testing, documenting, and integrating features using C and/or other programming languages on a Linux operating system. This position requires designing and developing software to model various Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) element capabilities.

    Responsibilities

    + Design and develop software to model OPIR element capabilities.

    + Support the MDST project as part of the WSS team.

    + Perform analysis, design, coding, testing, and integration of software.

    + Collaborate with technical teams and customer personnel.

    + Document and integrate features using C and/or other programming languages.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with C or similar programming languages.

    + Proficiency in software development, including analysis, design, coding, testing, and integration.

    + Experience with Atlassian Tool Suite.

    + Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

    + Knowledge or experience in missile defense domain, infrared space surveillance, and modeling and simulation development.

    + Experience with agile software development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.

    + Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university.

    + Familiarity with object-oriented programming languages such as C++, C#, or similar.

    + Understanding of the software development life cycle.

    + Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with Java.

    + Knowledge of infrared space surveillance.

    Work Environment

    This role is onsite full-time at Schriever SFB, working in a SCIF environment. It offers a collaborative team atmosphere, and you will be part of the WSS Agile Release Train ART, supporting the U.S. Missile Defense System.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
