    Prestage (St. Pauls, NC)


    Prestage Farms is seeking for a reliable commercial driver to haul live turkeys from the farms to our processing plant in Saint Paul's, NC. This is a full-time position that requires flexibility to work Sunday nights through Thursday nights, with some occasional Friday nights.     Responsibilities

    + Safety operate a company-provided truck and trailer to transport live turkeys.

    + Ensure the well-being of the turkeys during transportation, adhering to all relevant animal welfare regulations.

    + Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.

    + Document and log work/rest periods.

    + Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.

    + Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.

    + Maintain a clean and organized truck and trailer at all times.

    Requirements

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. & occasionally up to 100 lbs.

    + Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.

    + Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations

    + No recent moving or driving violations.

    + Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)

    + Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations.

    + one year of commercial driving experience or Trucking School Certificate

    + Valid Commercial driver license class A

    + Must be 21 years or older.
