    TEKsystems (Mount Pleasant, WI)


    Job Summary:

    TEKsystems is seeking a skilled and motivated Data Center Technician for a contract-to-hire opportunity supporting one of the most high-profile and rapidly growing data center initiatives in the country. This role involves supporting data center decommissioning, cable management, hardware setup, and physical audits across multiple sites nationwide.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Remove network cables as part of data center decommissioning efforts.

    + Run, label, and stage power and networking cables.

    + Perform DBD removal (no scanning required).

    + Follow procedures for installing, troubleshooting, replacing, and decommissioning equipment under the guidance of Data Center Technician Leads.

    + Prepare, stage, and perform basic hardware startups and shutdowns using written instructions and checklists.

    + Conduct physical audits of data center assets.

    + Monitor systems for equipment failures or performance issues.

    + Respond to program error messages and assist in debugging and testing.

    + Operate spreadsheet and software tools to manage and report data.

    Required Qualifications:

    + High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

    + Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.

    + Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).

    + Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% of the time.

    + Open to working at all Milwaukee-area data center sites.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Associate’s degree in computer programming or equivalent training.

    + 5+ years of data center experience.

    + Strong communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.

    + Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $50.00/hr.
