Iteris is seeking a hybrid Customer Service Representative who enjoys helping others and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will help make a real difference by helping people across the commonwealth area while gaining valuable experience in public service and emergency response.

What you will be doing:

+ Be a friendly voice and helpful guide for citizens and visitors with questions about VDOT projects, services, and resources

+ Provide clear, accurate information using established guidelines to ensure consistent and timely responses

+ Communicate primarily via phone and email, while also using tools like work order systems and online resources (e.g., VA 511)

+ Support emergency operations when needed—this role is essential during events like severe weather or natural disasters

What you need to be successful in this role:

+ At least 6 months of experience using Microsoft Office and web browsers

+ A background in customer service, especially in a team setting

+ Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask and stay organized

+ Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal

+ A calm, professional approach to handling all types of customer interactions

+ Flexibility to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and during emergencies

+ Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic

Iteris anticipates paying $17.50 for this role. However, actual pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience.
