Job Summary
As part of the Pricing and Margin Management team, The Competitive Intelligence Analyst is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and disseminating information about competitors, market trends, and regulatory developments within the electricity industry. This role involves identifying opportunities and threats in the market, enabling strategic decision-making for the organization.
Job Description
Key Accountabilities
+ Gather relevant market data, including default pricing and competitor data to inform go-to-market and marketing allocation decisions
+ Evaluate product offerings in market and provide recommendations to relevant business partners to adapt internal sales and product strategies
+ Observe and engage new market participants and disruptors, assess the level of potential strategic opportunity and/or threat, and communicate appropriate information to business stakeholders and management
+ Manage relationships with competitive intelligence vendors to ensure SLAs are being met and information is being communicated to Vistra on a timely basis
+ Work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders to understand and address intelligence gaps
+ Conduct ad hoc reporting and analysis to drive critical, time-sensitive business decisions and ensure performance is meeting company objectives
+ Operate tableau dashboards related to competitive intelligence reporting and develop new visualizations when necessary
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
+ 2+ years professional experience in competitive intelligence, market research, or related roles (energy or utilities sector experience preferred)
+ Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and draw meaningful conclusions
+ Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely
+ Technical capabilities in Excel, PowerPoint, SQL, and Tableau
+ Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications isapplicable to above skills and experience
Key Metrics
+ Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to manage a diverse range of projects simultaneously
+ Strong oral and written communication skills, good presentation skills, and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work comfortably with all levels of employees
+ Skilled in using computer software applications such as Microsoft Office (required), SQL/Python (recommended), tableau (recommended)
+ Demonstration of the ability to adapt quickly to changing strategic situations, design recommendations that address the issues, and build cross-functional consensus to drive needed change
+ Ability to gain content knowledge quickly and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a rapidly changing environment
