Under the general guidance of the Plant Processing Manager, the Plant Processing Supervisor will oversee the consolidation and operation of all wastes received including hazardous, non-hazardous, and universal wastes and off-spec products. The Plant Processing Supervisor will ensure that customer orders are safely and accurately processed on time and according to all internal procedures. Additionally, the Plant Processing Supervisor will ensure all operations maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and customer requirements. They will communicate effectively with internal and external teams, departments, customers and vendors to achieve operational goals. The Plant Processing Supervisor will hire, train, develop, and manage the performance of their staff to attain a cohesive, motivated team.
+ Maintain operational documentation to include reports, licenses, procedures, order requirements, etc.
+ Manage and communicate with other sites and corporate teams to coordinate work.
+ Administer scheduled pickups and deliveries, including communications with customer to resolve issues or clarify requirements.
+ Responsible for purchasing for the facilities including generating purchase orders, work orders, and review of invoicing for services provided.
+ Support compliance with all federal, state and local permit requirements.
+ Communicate to management facility needs, difficulties and changes in operations.
+ Supervise segregation and packaging material for transport along with the completion of required paperwork in a legible, accurate, and timely manner in accordance with appropriate regulations and Customer/Clean Earth policies, practices, and procedures.
+ Oversee large projects/jobs including managing a team of technicians. Schedule and distribute work to team. Instruct, provide feedback, direct and assist team in performance of job duties to complete work in accordance with requirements and Clean Earth policies, practices and procedures.
+ Train technicians and operators on-the-job in equipment operation, service line processes and necessary paperwork. Provide training and coaching to team members as needed.
+ Promotes Safety and Security initiatives across the entire team within their plant.
+ Follow all Health & Safety/Job Safety Analysis (JSA's) procedures as outlined in Clean Earth procedures and policies.
+ Supervise work of non-exempt employees.
+ Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.
Education
+ High School Diploma required, B.S. in an environmental-related field preferred, or can demonstrate related equivalent work experience.
+ 40-hour HAZWOPER training completed and current, or ability to obtain.
Experience
+ Minimum 5 years of progressive environmental/hazardous waste management experience working in an operations capacity in receiving waste or materials management.
+ Experience in the hazardous waste industry and general knowledge of RCRA and Department of Transportation (DoT) regulations as it relates to the transportation and processing of waste is preferred.
+ Understanding of waste profiling and tracking related to acceptance into inventory and outbound shipping of waste
