Institutional Research Analyst - Office of Enrollment Data Strategies, Division of Student Affairs
POSITION DETAILS
TheInstitutional Research Analystwill report to the Institutional Research Manager.
In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, theInstitutional Research Analystwill be responsible for the following duties:
+ Handle day-to-day operations of the CRM system, including user account management and maintaining reliable integrations with university platforms and external vendor systems.
+ Conduct routine data quality checks, assess data-related issues, manage data transfers, and ensure the integrity of records throughout the enrollment funnel (prospects to admits).
+ With assistance from the manager, create and optimize queries, dashboards, and custom reports to support enrollment strategies, student success initiatives, and institutional planning.
+ Track system performance and recommend improvements to enhance overall system functionality.
+ Evaluate and propose new ways streamline processes and support continuous improvement.
+ Maintain clear documentation of system workflows, security procedures, and operational guidelines to ensure compliance and consistency.
+ Partner with teams in Student Affairs to ensure CRM capabilities align with institutional priorities and foster data-informed decision-making.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree required.
_Preferred Qualifications_
+ Experience with Microsoft Excel and R or Python.
+ Experience with SQL and/or PS Query.
+ Experience that demonstrates good knowledge of record management systems.
+ Demonstrated experience with logic, technical design and workflow concepts.
+ Ability to handle information of sensitive and confidential nature with the highest level of professionalism.
+ Familiarity with FERPA regulations to ensure the secure handling of applicant and student information.
+ Demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, and personal accountability.
+ Strong interpersonal and oral communication abilities.
CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
Assists with Institutional Research projects, data, and reports.
- Coordinates the design and maintenance of Institutional Research databases.
- Works with large complex data sets, including exporting/importing from various sources, cleaning data files, and maintaining historical records.
- Assists with the design, production and administration of survey instruments, analyzing quantitative and qualitative data.
- Prepares and runs reports for internal and external constituents.
- Works with others in the College community to assure high-quality information and reporting.
- Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary commensurate with education and experience **$46,103 - $54,268.**
