    Winter hrs 6:00am-2:00pm summer hrs 7:00am-3:00pm

    Summary:

    The Mechanic, Plant Operations works to maintain the facility, equipment and grounds for both Father Baker Manor and St. Francis Park in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with Federal, State standards, guidelines and regulations, facility established policy and procedures.

    Responsibilities:

    EDUCATION

    + High School diploma or GED

    EXPERIENCE

    + Two (2) years experience in building and maintenance preferred

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

    + Must possess a valid driver's license

    + Clean driving record as defined in the Arrests, Convictions and Criminal Background Checks policy, HR-105-EMP

    + Have working knowledge of heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical and carpentry skills, and other general maintenance areas

    + Ability to use various power tools

    + Communication skills which may be inclusive of approach, tone of voice, speed of communication, respectfulness and non verbal communication

    + Must be able to read, write and speak the English language

    + Must possess basic math skills

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    + Standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, heavy lifting

    + May work in cramped areas

    + Driving may be required

    + Required to be on call on a rotating schedule

    + Exposure to chemicals and hazardous materials

    + Subject to environmental temperature extremes

    + Intermittent exposure to a few unpleasant physical conditions
