    Summary

    Perdue AgriBusiness is seeking an **Electrical Mechanical Maintenance Mechanic** in **Salisbury, MD** to support our Soybean Processing facility.

     

    This position will be responsible to perform assigned electrical and/or mechanical duties within scope of classification to include equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, emergency breakdown, and equipment failure.

     

    This position has a target wage of $22.00 - $33.00 per hour, based on shift, experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance). Overtime may be available.

    Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    + Perform routine preventative maintenance on Mechanical and Electrical equipment.

    + Diagnose failures to mechanical and electrical equipment and make repairs.

    + Rebuild mechanical and electrical equipment.

    + Fabricate sheet metal and conduit.

    + Compile and complete paperwork relative to repairs to include but not limited to work orders, time cards, and job cards.

    + Perform all work within safety guidelines established by local, state, and federal agencies as well as company policies

    + Respond to calls after hours and on weekends to repair mechanical equipment failures.

    + Perform other assigned tasks as assigned

    Minimum Education

    + High School Diploma or equivalent

    + Advanced electrical training preferred

    Experience Requirements

    + 1 - 4 years of related experience

    + General knowledge of computer, operating and network systems

    + Basics of working around and using High Voltage equipment

    + Basics of microprocessor-based equipment (loop controllers, VFD, etc.)

    + Experience with gearbox systems, pump systems, conveyors, pneumatics and hydraulics

    + Welding experience, mig and stick

     

    Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

     

    Must be able to move throughout assigned areas of responsibility carrying required equipment and tools to perform trouble shooting procedures, repairs and preventative maintenance. Must be able to reach vertical heights up to 150' to perform repairs, preventative maintenance and monitor equipment both open and in confined spaces. Must be able to work outside in all seasonal weather, stand for 8 to 14 hours. Exposure to air born dust, chemicals, such as hexane, caustic sode, butanone, ethanol and aluminum chloride. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db.May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. May need to climb ladders.
