• Senior Accountant

    Robert Half Finance & Accounting (Citrus Heights, CA)


    Description

    Lisa Cole with Robert Half is partnering with a growing company that is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant that is looking to learn and grow in their career. This role is vital in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial records, including managing month-end closings and balance sheet reconciliations. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintaining financial integrity. This position will be in the office based out of Citrus Heights, CA.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Prepare and record all month-end closing journal entries; ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

    + Fully own the balance sheet: reconcile every account monthly and propose necessary adjustments for CFO approval.

    + Reconcile all cash accounts monthly and train accounting staff to perform daily cash reconciliations.

    + Collaborate with HR and Payroll to prepare and record month-end payroll accruals.

    + Ensure financials are GAAP-compliant and accurately reflect the company’s position.

    + Support internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation and responding to inquiries.

    + Assist with additional projects and duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required).

    + 5+ years of progressive accounting experience

    + Deep understanding of accrual-based accounting

    + Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with QuickBooks and/or other ERP systems.

    + Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a self-starting attitude.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact across departments and leadership levels.

    + Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
