    The starting rate for this position is $22.63 an hour.

    Boiler Operator

     

    Reports To: Department Manager

    Summary

    Responsible for ensuring a continuous supply of heat and steam for key facilities by operating and maintaining the power plant in a safe and efficient manner.

    Job Requirements

    + High School Diploma or GED

    + Maine Driver’s License

    + 1-3 years of related of boiler experience

    + Handles multiple priorities, and work under pressure.

    + Ability to make decisions using independent discretion.

    + Computer skills.

    + Must read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language.

    + Work alone or with a team and in crowded/confined spaces.

    + Mathematical skills.

    + Responsible, supportive team player and have interpersonal skills with team members, staff or vendors.

    + The ability to manage anger, fear, hostility, violence, stress appropriately.

    + Must be able to follow written or verbal instructions.
