    Astronics-PECO, located in picturesque Clackamas, Oregon near the foothills of Mt. Hood, designs, certifies, manufactures, and sells a wide range of products to commercial, government, and military markets throughout the world. Our highly engineered interior and structural aerospace products are supplied to the largest aircraft manufacturers and are installed in aircraft around the globe, and our military products are used in critical national defense applications. The Max-Viz enhanced visions systems (EVS) are designed and certified for use as an improvement to safety by a vast array of airplanes, helicopters, and unmanned-aerial-vehicles in the commercial, government, and military marketplace. PECO-Controls are well established temperature control devices designed for applications where high quality is a must, such as the hospitality industry, commercial cooking, and other critical applications.

     

    We are looking for an experienced **Maintenance Machinist/Technician** to join our established maintenance team. In this role you will work to conduct preventative maintenance and repair equipment within the facility. You may work on metal die casting machines, plastic molding machines, CNC machines, HVAC, plumbing and more.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    + Performs welding and fabrication in machine shop.

    + Builds, installs, maintains, adjusts, and repairs production fixtures.

    + Change oil, oil filters, air filters, lubricate and check fluid levels in all manufacturing such as lift trucks, casting machines and molding machines.

    + Replaces filters in HVAC units.

    + Builds pallets, crates, tables, and wooden fixtures.

    + Performs remodeling, carpentry work, painting and repairs of facility.

    + Performs safety checks of compressed air system, gas heating and sprinkler system.

    + Performs lift truck repair and maintenance.

    + Operates a variety of forklifts, power tools, hand tools, measuring tools and other maintenance equipment.

    + Assists other maintenance personnel.

    + Attends Quality Manual Standards Training and applies Quality Standards accordingly.

    + Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.

    Desired Skills, Training and Experience:

    + High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.

    + Maintenance experience, education and/or training, required.

    + Ability to read and interpret blueprints, instruction manuals, and diagrams.

    + PLC programming knowledge, preferred.

    + Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions.

    + Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

    + Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measures, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continually required to stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk and hear. The employee will occasionally climb, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include natural or corrected near vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

     

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to cold and heat and wet or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Proper footwear, safety glasses and hearing protection are required.
