Southland Holdings is currently accepting resumes for experienced Field Engineers in Vinton, LA. We are looking for someone with knowledge in drainage, utility, and roadway construction.

Responsibilities/Duties:

+ Receive, review, forward and track status of submittals.

+ Coordinate with subcontractors.

+ Provide field layout to crews.

+ Assisting management with field & office operations such as ordering of materials and quality control Receive and review change orders.

+ Assist more senior civil engineers with entry level engineering tasks.

+ Assist with performing onsite construction administration and construction observation services including reporting/monitoring contractor's compliance with contract documents.

+ Evaluates submittals of shop drawings, material data and samples and takes appropriate action based upon contract specifications, submission of correspondence to the owner and quantity tracking.

+ Reviews and processes as-built drawings to ensure that all changes during the course of construction are recorded. Completes project close out requirements in accordance with contract documents.

+ Coordinates meeting agendas, prepares minutes and follows up on action items.

+ Maintains effective and professional relationships with owners, architects, engineers and contractors. Executes additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

+ Construction/related degree with 2+ years of Heavy Civil construction experience Excellent computer skills and analytical ability

+ Surveying capabilities Microsoft Office experience

+ Understanding of industrial construction process

+ Must have ability to interpret contract specifications and drawings Knowledge of contract procedures and principles

+ Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment

+ Ability to understand construction logic and sequencing of complex projects Education:

+ Associate degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering Relevant US experience can waive degree.

+ Prefer - Experience in civil, infrastructure to include: USACE projects, pipeline, water treatment, concrete, marine, etc.). USACE CQM Certification

+ OSHA 30 training AutoCAD experience

+ Bluebeam Revu Experience P6 Experience
