The overall function of this position is to install, repair, program, and maintain electronic traffic signal systems, solid state computerized controllers, and video detection equipment. This position may assist in providing a wide variety of routine electrical maintenance and installation work at all facilities maintained by District 58.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Installs, repairs, and maintains electronic traffic signal systems, solid state computerized controllers, and vehicle detection equipment.
Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems and equipment. This includes primary and secondary high voltage systems, underground and above ground, indoor and outdoor lighting, cooling, heating, and refrigeration equipment, emergency power plants, control panels, generators and power distribution systems.
Perform diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of electrical devices, equipment, and systems associated with fixed and moveable bridges and on the marine vessel at the Duty Ferry.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional
Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Trades Apprentice, Electronic Technician Trainee, or Electronic Technician.
Work Schedule:Work hours are 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Thursday.
Compensation:
Trade Apprentice: $16.06/hr
Electronic Technician Trainee: $21.05/hr
Electronic Technician: $24.10/hr
