Position Summary:
_What you can expect:_
The Operational Intelligence Team seeks a strong technology leader to lead numerous efforts focused on enhancing the monitoring and observability capabilities at Bank of America. This position reports directly to the Head of Operational Intelligence for the firm.
This senior leader will be focused on delivering special projects related to monitoring and observability at Bank of America. These projects include enhancing vendor offerings, implementing solutions leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs), gathering user requirements and performing tools rationalization. Senior Architect that will participate in the development and implementation of monitoring strategy and solutions aligned as core to the business information flows and systems architecture. This individual provides integrated systems planning and recommends new or different technologies that will enhance current systems and support overall corporate and business goals aligned to the Application Production Support monitoring strategy. Recommends the appropriate monitoring capabilities in support of business process and is responsible for delivery of aligned capabilities across critical business applications.
This is not an application development role, however experience working in some capacity with an application development team - understanding how different components in an application work together, interaction with the middleware, system software and Hardware is essential. Diverse engineering skills to architect and implement monitoring solutions.
_What you will do:_
Rollout of the strategic monitoring tool across Bank of America
SME for monitoring tools that form part of the global monitoring strategy
Participate in global discussions on the continuation and evolution on global monitoring strategy
Drive change in monitoring and observability at Bank of America.
Required Qualifications:
+ 10+ years Development or Architecture experience for multi-tiered business applications
+ 10+ years production systems Architecting and/or support role
+ Proven experience with supporting monitoring tools such as – Dynatrace, Splunk, Catchpoint
+ Familiarity with supporting monitoring on Cloud and Containers infrastructure
+ Knowledge of OS (Windows/Unix) based infrastructure services, processing, monitoring, shell scripts, etc.
+ Proven experience in programming languages (Java and/or .NET)
+ Proven experience in application/network performance and availability monitoring
+ Proven experience in N-Tier Architecture supporting a multitude of products (Webserver, Middleware, Database, etc.)
+ Knowledge of ITIL functions and processes
+ An excellent communicator, able to network and influence across multiple levels is required of this role
+ A self-motivated, hands-on, driven individual
+ A strategic thinker who can link business context to technical reality
Desired Qualifications:
+ 4-year college degree
+ Previous experience in development and/or support of Banking applications
+ Experience in Major Incident Management
+ Experience dealing with vendor relationships
+ Demonstrated experience influencing change in large organizations
The ideal candidate will have experience working and being successful in a large, multi-data center enterprise environment. Business acumen a plus. Communication and flexibility are important skills for this role, as special projects may be assigned over time.
