    In this role, you will lead a team to accomplish the following:

    + Read and interpret technical drawings for the fabrication and installation of cabling and equipment.

    + Assemble and integrate various communication systems into a variety of military and government agency platforms such as boats, vehicles, buildings and transit cases.

    + Fabricate a variety of RF, data and power cables using solder and crimp techniques.

    + Work with quality control, engineering, project managers and other functional groups to provide feedback and resolve issues.

    + Build kits to deliver to off-site installations.

    + Travel all over the world in support of our various customers.

     

    All work is performed according to industry best practice and MIL standards in accordance with quality assurance standards.

     

    The hourly rate for this position is set by the Department of Labor and is not negotiable. Current rate is 28.79 (Technician III) / $35.64 (Technician IV). Candidates with additional years of experience may be considered for the higher-level role.

     

    The position is located in Lexington Park, MD. There is no relocation assistance available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing or state willingness to relocate self to local or surrounding areas.

     

    Required Education, Experience, & Skills

     

    High School Diploma and at least 4 years of experience using engineering drawings to fabricate cables, modify equipment and integrate into deliverable systems (Candidates with additional experience may be considered for the higher-level role)

     

    Ability to guide a small team to achieve a professional product within specific deadlines

     

    Ability to frequently work in a sitting, standing or walking position

     

    Ability to frequently lift and carry 10 pounds and occasionally lift and carry 50 pounds

    Ability to climb ladders, work at heights and work with hazardous material

    Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. driver's license or permit

     

    Ability to obtain a passport and to travel up to 50% of the year within the U.S. and overseas

     

    Experienced with Microsoft Office programs

     

    Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

     

    Experience being the lead of a small team

     

    Experience with electrical and mechanical installation experience

     

    Experience in soldering and cable fabrication

     

    Experience in metalwork fabrication and assembly experience

     

    Fiber fabrication certification

    Pay Information

    This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.
