Description
JOB FUNCTION: The Lead Prevention Specialist will implement and guide community and school-based NJ4S programming to ensure that youth and families have access to linkages and referrals for resources and supportive services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
+ Oversee NJ4S staff at Gateway Wellness Center
+ Oversee program related activities
+ Ensure that youth and families have access to prevention and recovery services to enhance wellness and resilience
+ Provide Functional and strength-based training and assessments to NJ4S program staff
+ Provide psycho education for families, community, staff and support systems
+ Track program database and reports
+ Coordinate mental health related trainings, workshops, and community activities
+ Outreach to community members and school networks for promotion and partnership opportunities
+ Provide staff training and opportunities for professional development
+ Collaborate with consultants, school districts, and community service providers to facilitate training, workshops, webinars, assemblies
+ Collaborate closely with school administrators, counselors, and support personnel as required in order to effectively deliver required supports to students and their families
+ Attentive and responsive to participants needs and wants in a helpful, supportive, timely manner
+ Works collaboratively with program staff and community resources to provide viable services
+ Assist with the planning and implementation of program activities
+ Attend program meetings and trainings
+ Play an active role in meetings and trainings designed to enhance program operations
+ Provides culturally competent service delivery
+ Effectively engages participants to continually access needs
+ Provides appropriate intervention strategies, as needed, and adjusts services accordingly
+ Assist in programmatic data collection, reporting, continuous quality improvement processes and evaluation of services
+ Attend community meeting
+ Assist with outreach efforts
QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Master’s Degree in Counseling, Human Services of other related field
+ Minimum of one-year experience working with youth and families
+ Computer literate and proficient in using applicable software
+ Experience implementing evidence-based treatment and prevention programs is strongly preferred
+ Experience working with and empowering youth and marginalized communities by conducting prevention education
