Responsibilities:
GENERAL SUMMARY
In collaboration with the Pediatric Trauma Medical Director and Pediatric Trauma Advanced Practice Provider, coordinate and facilitate all aspects of the pediatric trauma program. Assist in the coordination of pediatric trauma care across the continuum, establishes and oversees processes to monitor clinical outcomes and performance improvement activities. Represent the pediatric trauma program while interacting with representatives from other medical center departments as well as outside agencies, regional trauma faculty, staff, and regulatory agencies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
+ Coordinate trauma care management across the continuum of trauma care, including planning and implementation of clinical protocol/practice management guidelines, and serving as a resource for clinical practice.
+ Ensure ongoing compliance with criteria established by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma.
+ Manages re-verification visits to maintain verification as a pediatric level 1 trauma center.
+ Participates in case reviews for performance improvement, standardizes practice guidelines, and participates in quality and process improvement projects.
+ Reviews program and seek improvement when needed.
+ Co-chair the Pediatric Trauma Systems and Operational Committee and multidisciplinary peer review.
+ Directs community pediatric trauma education and injury prevention programs.
+ Establishes new injury prevention activities and programs depending on community need.
+ Oversee the pediatric trauma registry to perform data validations for accuracy and manage personnel.
+ Participates in local, regional, and national pediatric trauma research projects.
+ f data integrity. May participate in selecting, analyzing, and distributing current and relevant research findings.
+ Facilitates protocol design for accurate data collection, feedback, and analysis.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
+ Bachelor’s degree and 5 years relevant experience including at least 2 years at a managerial level; or equivalent combination of education and experience REQUIRED.
+ Master’s degree, equivalent course work, or specialized experience in an appropriate field related to the assignment is desirable PREFERRED.
+ Or equivalent combination of education and experience PREFERRED.
+ Experience at acute specialty-specific center in Emergency Department or Intensive Care Unit REQUIRED.
+ Experience in trauma, emergency medical services, emergency medicine, leadership, and management PREFERRED.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
+ Demonstrated ability to effectively problem-solve REQUIRED.Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing REQUIRED.
+ Trauma programs, ACS verification PREFERRED.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
+ RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure NYS RN Licensure upon hire REQUIRED.
+ Clinical Area of Specialty Certification within 1 year REQUIRED.
+ TCRN, ATCN, CEN PREFERRED.
