    Job Summary

    Continuing Education is seeking an ART 1030 Non-Major Basic Painting instructor to teach the Fall 2025 semester which runs August 18-December 12. This is a 3-credit hour academic class that meets 3 hours a week Mondays 6pm-9:30pm. Class will be held at the University of Utah Sandy Center located at 10011 Centennial Parkway, Suite 100, Sandy, Utah. This is a one semester assignment with possible work in future semesters as needed.

    Responsibilities

    + Create a class syllabus and share with students at least two weeks prior to the start of the semester

    + Set up class using Canvas, including syllabus and other content that students need to be successful

    + Prepare for each class session

    + Teach each class session

    + Administer quizzes and tests, including a final exam

    + Assign grades to each student

    + Work with the ART Department and main campus instructors as part of a cohort which can include a main campus meeting once a week

    + Other responsibilities as outlined in teaching contract

    Minimum Qualifications

    A master’s degree in ART and previous teaching experience is required. A willingness to work with academic department and current instructors to use same curriculum, similar syllabus, exams and grading methods.

     

    Preferences

     

    + Two or more years related experience

    + University of Utah and/or Higher Education teaching experience

    + Experience working with students and instructors

    + Works well independently

    + Strong written and verbal communication, coordination, and organizational skills, along with the ability to prioritize deadlines, analyze and make informed decisions related to program

    + Computer experience with Microsoft Office, CANVAS , and CIS
