Chemours is seeking a Process Control Technician to join our growing Manufacturing Technology team. This position will be available at the Washington Works site in Parkersburg, WV and report directly to the Manufacturing Technology Manager
This role provides technician support for process control equipment that directs the safe manufacture of various products at a 24/7 facility. This equipment includes PLCs, Distributed Control Systems, networks and electronic storage devices. This work often requires coordination with Plant Operators, Mechanics, E&I Technicians and Engineers. This role may be assigned to lead, design, program and implement new controls and will occasionally involve after-hours support and troubleshooting.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
+ Designing and implementing new control schemes for new & existing instruments, valves and equipment
+ Automating batch production activities
+ Work with plant operational teams to facilitate continuous improvement efforts related to electrical, control, and instrumentation performance
+ Participate in project teams
+ Documentation of process control systems
+ Troubleshooting issues in process control systems
The following is** **_required_** **for this role:
+ High School Diploma
+ Authorization to work in the United States
+ Familiarity with computers and computer networks
+ Experience with troubleshooting
+ Demonstrated ability to work with teams
+ Strong communications skills
+ Demonstrated ability to self-manage and work independently
The following is** **_preferred_** **for this role:
+ Experience with PLCs (hardware & software)
+ Experience with a DCS (Distributed Control System) like ABB, Honeywell or others (hardware & software)
+ Experience with Human Machine Interfaces (hardware & software)
+ Experience in a manufacturing environment
+ Experience with Process Safety Management in a High Hazard environment
+ Experience with automatic valve
+ Experience with instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow)
+ Experience with programming
+ Experience reading P&ID and Instrument Loop Sheets
