May act on behalf of superior on routine matters within established guidelines. Reports to assigned manager. *_Key Accountabilities:_* Provide efficient, accurate, and timely administrative support to contribute to the success of the area by performing a variety of duties such as those that follow. Complete assigned portion of the work area's processes or projects to contribute to its effective operation. May perform or coordinate varied and complex processes and determine the most appropriate methods and procedures. May facilitate, coordinate, or oversee the work of others in the process, requires planning, analysis and judgment to achieve desired outcomes. Provides direction and training to others as necessary. Specific responsibilities are typically similar those included under the Clerical, Administrative, Scheduling, Communications Accountabilities and other duties as assigned. Contribute to the success of the work area by coordinating or performing a variety of clerical duties that require the use of office machines to accomplish a desired outcome. Determines appropriate means and modifies procedures as required. Maintains files in a complete, accurate, and timely fashion in accordance with the standards of the work area, suggests changes to system to meet changing needs. May assign work to others. Demonstrates competencies, including knowledge and behaviors, to meet age-specific patient needs (e.g. Pediatrics, Adolescents, and Geriatrics.) Works effectively as a team member within the department and with customers to provide quality service to hospital units through communication, cooperation and collaboration. Assumes responsibility for self-improvement by collaborating with the superior to identify growth opportunities and resources. * Duties include scheduling, authorizations, records requests, and communication with multiple teams and practices * Serves as primary resource on administrative matters including, but not limited to: , health insurance, billing/coding requirements, prior authorizations, and select procedure scheduling * Ensure that all staff members communicate and interact with patients in a courteous, respectful, and businesslike manner. Holds staff accountable for customer service standards; intercedes and takes appropriate action when incidents occur. * Schedules procedures and all required preprocedural testing. Able to obtain prior authorizations when necessary. * Responsible for processing all new patients referrals as needed * Communicates with staff regarding new policies and procedures, changes in billing and insurance policies, and any other issues related to the operations * Promotes teamwork within the practice through timely and collaborative communication with medical staff *Qualifications: * • Additional two years of education beyond High School or two years of high level secretarial experience. • Three years previous secretarial experience • Basic keyboard skills with proficiency in use of personal computer and good communication skills required. • High degree of confidentiality. • Cardiology experience preferred • Must be flexible with regard to the changing needs of the unit.
