    JOB TITLE: Software Engineer

     

    DUTIES: Design, develop, test, and maintain software systems for the R&D internal development platform. Maintain core software infrastructure used by teams within R&D to develop both POC projects and production-grade applications. Work through all phases of software development including software architecture, design, development, testing, and deployment. Work closely with application software architects to design software systems that are scalable, maintainable, and in-line with both industry and company best practices and standards. Deliver on time with a high bar on quality of research, innovation, and engineering. Write efficient, clean, and maintainable code for both backend and frontend systems. Implement new features, refactor existing code, and fix bugs. Work closely with other software engineers, UX/UI designers, product managers, and other team members to ensure a smooth development process and a consistent user experience. Develop and execute test plans to ensure the functionality, reliability, and performance of the software, which may include unit testing, integration testing, and manual testing. Debug and fix issues identified during testing. Communicate with stakeholders, product managers, and UX/UI designers to understand the requirements for the new features or improvements. May attend meetings, review documentation, or conduct user research. Develop functional prototypes or proof-of-concept implementations of the proposed software solutions to validate ideas and gather feedback from stakeholders or potential users. Work closely with application software architects to design software systems that are scalable, maintainable, and in-line with both industry and company best practices and standards. Develop web applications using ReactJS, Node, Docker, and Gitlab CI, TypeScript, cloud infrastructure and deployment, cloud provider products like AWS, Azure, CI/CD pipelines, programming languages like JavaScript and Typescript. Work with NodeJS, unit and end-to-end (E2E) testing frameworks including Jest, Junit, JMeter, Mocha, REST APIs, and mobile application development for Android or IOS including NativeScript or React Native.

     

    REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or in a related/similar position. Experience therein to include 5 years of experience in full stack software development; and working through all phases of software development including software architecture/design, development, testing, and deployment. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience, employer will accept a Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in the fields stated above and 3 years of experience in the skillsets stated above. Experience therein to include 3 years of experience with Java, JavaScript/Typescript, React, NodeJS, building REST APIs, and working with and mobile application development for Android or IOS including NativeScript or React Native. Experience therein to include 1 year of experience with end-to-end (E2E) testing frameworks including Jest, Junit, JMeter, and Mocha.
