    What You’ll Do:

    Lead & Innovate (40%)

    + Build and develop a high-performing data science group within our R&D team, fostering a collaborative and empowering culture.

    + Develop cutting-edge machine learning models to optimize cement formulation, analyze IoT sensor data, and assess competitive products.

    + Integrate seamlessly with our Microsoft Azure-based software infrastructure.

    Stay Ahead of the Curve (10%)

    + Keep up with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in AI/ML/DL.

    Collaborate & Connect (5%)

    + Engage with data scientist communities across Saint-Gobain Construction Chemicals (SGCC) and Saint-Gobain Research to share insights and drive innovation.

    Travel (5%)

    + Some travel may be required to collaborate with teams and industry partners.

    What You Bring:

    Education & Experience:

    + Ph.D. or Master’s in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.

    + 7+ years of experience in a Data Science role.

    Technical Expertise:

    + Experience with cloud-based data infrastructure (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).

    + Strong programming skills in Python, with proficiency in SQL, NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, Jupyter, and Keras.

    + Ability to communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Familiarity with construction industry or manufacturing processes is a plus!

    Lead the building and developing of a data science group within the Construction Chemicals R&D group with a strong collaborative and empowering culture

     

    Develop machine learning models to optimize cement-related opportunities such as formulation optimization, IoT sensor data analysis, competitive product analysis

     

    Interface with existing Saint-Gobain software infrastructure (Microsoft Azure)

     

    10%

     

    Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data science and cloud computing infrastructures and state-of-the-art AI/ML/DL algorithms and research results.

     

    5%

     

    Ensure the right level of connection and exchanges with various data scientist communities in SGCC (Verifi) and Saint-Gobain Research.

     

    5% Travel required

    Requirements

    PHD or MS in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics

     

    7+ years in a Data Science role

     

    Experience in using scalable data platforms and cloud-based data infrastructure (e.g. AZURE, AWS, Google Cloud)

     

    Strong programming skills in Python

     

    Proficiency in SQL, Python, Python data science stack (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, Jupyter), Keras, and other ML tool

     

    Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to both technical (outside of data science or IT fields) and non-technical stakeholders

    Preferred Requirements

    Familiarity with the construction industry or manufacturing process
