    Description:

    POSITION PURPOSE:

    Saint Alphonsus in Boise, Idaho is looking to find a person who will be a great fit for our Mobile Clinic/Breast Services teams. This position will wear multiple hats, working as a Patient Service Representative and also driving our mobile clinic vehicle.

     

    *Bilingual in Spanish & English is preferred*

     

    In this position, you will work in conjunction with physicians and clinical staff to take care of patients’ administrative needs.  Primary responsibilities include checking in patients for appointments, collecting patient co-pays, answering telephones, scheduling appointments, and checking insurance eligibility.   You will utilize our electronic record system to verify and update patient demographic information as well as posting and balancing of payments collected.  Patient Service Representatives are friendly and provide excellent customer service, assuring that patients are informed and well cared for while waiting for their appointment, creating a positive experience for patients.

     

    As the Mobile Clinic PSR, you will be responsible for driving the mobile clinic vehicle from hospital to clinic sites, assisting with clinic set up and take-down, perform basic maintenance tasks with vehicle water and propane, and assist in transporting the mobile clinic vehicle for repairs as needed.

     

    **Driving Required**

     

    This position will be part-time, 20 hours per week working 8 or 10-hour days. The schedule is not set and could include weekdays and/or weekends.

     

    As the PSR/Mobile Clinic Driver, you will help to set up and tear down for clinic days in various types of weather to be of service to Saint Alphonsus patients, help with the patient process, data entry, and help with the Mobile Clinic bus needs.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    + High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

    + Previous customer service experience required. Healthcare experience, preferred.

    + Electronic health record (EHR) experience a plus.

    + Medical terminology knowledge preferred.

    + Experience with process improvement or lean philosophy preferred.

    + Must obtain Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) driving privileges within 6 months of hire.

    + Ability to earn and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) or annual CPR certification within 6 months of hire.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    + Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.

    + Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information and follows guidelines for HIPPA regulations.

    Patient Registration Essential Functions:

    + Checks in patients, registers patients for appointments, and completes paperwork.

    + Verifies and updates existing patient and insurance information.

    + Collect, record, and communicate to patients their responsible balances for visit, diagnostic testing, supplies, etc. Ensure collection of payments at time of service.

    + Maintain knowledge of different payer practices and deductibles. Balance daily financial activities.

    + Assist patients with all aspects of Financial Assistance Paperwork. Control credit extended to patients via a payment plan.

    + Maintain business office inventory and equipment and order supplies.

    Scheduling Medical Appointments Essential Functions:

    + Answers telephone calls to answer questions, schedule patients, update patient personal and insurance information.

    + Schedules patient appointments in person or by telephone.

    + Handles multiple telephone lines; mails patient paperwork to new patients prior to appointment.

    + Interacts with patients via Patient Portal.

    + Scan incoming patient related documents into EHR.

    + Ability to process incoming and outgoing referral requests.

    Medical Records Essential Functions:

    + Files incoming medical reports and correspondence.

    + Assembles new patient medical records in accordance with policies and procedures.

    + Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.

    + Receives, processes, and documents referral requests to and from the office.

    + Received and sorts incoming faxes.

    + Receives and routes record requests from others; makes requests on behalf of providers/patients.
