    Job Description

    Under general administrative oversight, the Associate Dean of Enrollment Management will lead all aspects of student recruitment, admissions, and retention efforts with a data-driven focus on student success and institutional growth. The position works collaboratively with the president, college leadership, faculty, staff and students and leads the enrollment management team to ensure the college meets and exceeds enrollment goals, increases the size of the student body to achieve Southeast’s Strategic Plan objectives, retention goals, and diversifies enrollment streams. This position may be located at either the Winona or Red Wing campus

     

    The Associate Dean of Enrollment Management will shape and implement a strategic enrollment management plan that is innovative, focuses on data-driven processes that promote efficiency and growth. Collaborating with cross-campus stakeholders, this leader will play a critical role in promoting and maintaining a collaborative, learner-centered culture that prioritizes enrollment growth, retention, and student success. The Associate Dean also provides data analytics to measure progress and reports to internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating a strong commitment to equity, inclusion, and Southeast’s values. This position provides supervision, leadership, and the necessary direction for meeting the educational needs of a diverse student body. The position will achieve a high standard of excellence and innovation, implementing high-impact practices and emerging industry trends related to enrollment management.

     

    Additionally, the position develops and supports partnerships with public and private K-12 schools, area colleges and universities, Adult Basic Education (ABE), community organizations, corporate partners and workforce development to enhance recruitment and enrollment initiatives.

     

    Create, implement, and evaluate Southeast’s enrollment management plan and enrollment management operations and strategies.

     

    + Develop and implement a comprehensive, effective strategic enrollment management (SEM) plan that supports Southeast's growth goals, mission and vision, and implements tactics to achieve Southeast’s recruitment targets for both campus’ physical locations and online programs.

    + Collaborate closely with institutional effectiveness to collect, analyze, and interpret admission and retention data to ensure the effectiveness of Southeast’s SEM.

    + Establishes and regularly assesses predictive enrollment models and indicators, using real-time analytics to inform recruitment, and retention strategies.

    + Stays informed on the latest trends and high-impact practices in higher education enrollment management, financial aid, and retention, continuously seeking opportunities to innovate and improve processes.

    + Builds and enhances relationships with faculty, staff, and administrators across the college, to expand their understanding of trends in higher education and to aid in the fulfillment or enrollment management initiatives and priorities.

    + Establish goals for inquiries, applications, acceptances, campus visits, interviews, and enrollment for recruiting purposes and provide reports to the College leadership on progress toward these goals.

    + Strategically utilize marketing assets and external marketing vendors to generate and ensure proper and memorable recruitment messaging and content are used in publications, digital marketing, social media, and website to support student recruitment goals and other marketing and promotion needs of the college.

    + In close collaboration with the Director of Marketing, identify market segments and inform nuanced marketing strategies with a focus on brand-building, innovation, and best practice; guides the development of recruitment and marketing materials; and monitors the performance of strategic recruitment and integrated marketing plans.

    + Provide education and information regarding changing demographics and the higher education landscape and provide institutional partners with the guidance and training to collaborate on effective recruitment and engagement activities in a way that is productive, proactive, and valued.

    + Oversee initiatives to enhance diversity among incoming students by building partnerships with organizations and expanding pathways for international and underrepresented populations.

    + Develop, recommend, and implement college policies and procedures for enrollment management in accordance with institutional, Minnesota State, state and federal policies and compliance mandates.

    + Partners with academic affairs, student life, and student support services employees to design and implement holistic retention programs that address students’ academic, social, and financial needs. These efforts should focus on enhancing student engagement, advising, and retention across the student lifecycle.

    + Participate in accreditation and Office for Civil Rights (OCR) processes and activities.

    + Provide regular communications and opportunities for discussion of data to the College community through Town Hall meetings, email correspondence, and similar discussion opportunities that advance the understanding of enrollment data.

    •​​​Develop sustainable relationships with K-12, higher education institutions, community partners and corporate partners that further enhance the College’s mission, vision, and enrollment goals.

    + Lead efforts to diversify and expand student recruitment pipelines through partnerships with area high schools, community organizations, and digital recruitment platforms. Enhance recruitment efforts for non-traditional and underrepresented students through targeted outreach and marketing initiatives.

    + Lead the development of strategies to increase and ensure timely processes for PSEO, concurrent, and additional secondary enrollment opportunities.

    + In collaboration with Southeast’s leadership provide administrative oversight and leadership for the Red Wing College Promise Program and College Opportunity Program monitoring program processes and data for continuous improvement opportunities.

    + Collaborate with area workforce centers and college personnel to develop opportunities for workforce participants to matriculate to Southeast.

    + Collaborate and communicate with staff, faculty and students regarding partnership projects with K-12, and Adult Basic Education and corporate partners.

    + Review and approve all international student applications for admittance to the college. Ensure the college follows all SEVIS reporting requirements by the Department of Homeland Security. Serves as the Principal Designated Official (PDSO).

    + Research and maintain knowledge regarding Immigration and Naturalization Service policies and procedures to advise students on VISA status, enrollment status, and needed documentation. ​

     

    Responsible for providing supervision, direction, and financial leadership for the department.

     

    + Provide vision, leadership, management, and supervision for the Enrollment Management Team; mentor and inspire a professional team and support the growth and development of staff to retain high-performing individuals.

    + Promote efficiency of all enrollment operations by preparing and managing the department budget.

    + Provide regular and strategic direction, vision and performance indicators for the enrollment management team which include navigators, admissions counselors, dual enrollment staff and ensure an integrated, interactive, and inclusive environment based on enrollment management and Southeast’s mission and goals.

    + Plan and implement change management processes, including workflow, systems, and training as necessary to ensure successful transformation of the enrollment management division.

    + Ensure collective bargaining agreements and Minnesota State policies and procedures are implemented and appropriately enforced, all applicable laws and regulations are implemented and enforced, and all employees and applicants receive equitable treatment.

    + Monitor expenditures of the approved annual allocations for department.

    + Manage and oversee the establishment of contractual arrangements with external vendors.

     

    Lead the department in evaluating, implementing, integrating, and leveraging CRM technology to innovate, increase operational efficiency, and meet the expectations of students and families.

     

    + Direct Southeast’s efforts in the design, implementation, and maintenance of the Customer Relationships Management (CRM) system.

    + Lead the development of application processing within Southeast CRM by collaborating with a third-party vendor and overseeing the implementation of all application periods and rounds, status rules, admission materials, checklist items, document processing, workflows, reader review forms, and decision codes.

    + Foster a culture of excellence in appropriately leveraging data and sharing of information within the Enrollment Management Team, including best practices in data collection, analysis, and reporting; provide admission data to the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment and the Business Office for federal and state reporting purposes as needed.

    + Responsible for identifying, prioritizing, and managing admissions-related CRM projects.

    + Collaborate with campus partners to identify, investigate, and resolve data quality issues. Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity of prospect and applicant records.

    + Develop queries to extract, aggregate, and cleanse data from various sources. Maintain data sets to ensure reporting efficiency and accuracy.

    + Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to inform recruitment and enrollment strategies, including territory management, communications, and visit experiences.

    + Create user accounts, establish access permissions, maintain security, and train users on CRM functions appropriate for their role.

     

    Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation of the organization as a preferred business partner.

     

    Salary Range: $84,063-$121,522

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Five (5) years of progressively responsible leadership experience in enrollment management, recruitment, admissions, financial aid or related areas, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + Experience and familiarity with student recruitment strategies, including digital marketing, social media, and CRM systems with an emphasis on assessing emerging technologies, particularly AI to leverage enhanced operational efficiencies to set and meet Strategic Enrollment Management Plan objectives.

    + Demonstrated experience working with campus constituents including a diverse student population, staff, faculty, and parents of current students with. a commitment to the values of belonging, equity, and inclusion. Experience working with underrepresented, first-generation, Pell-eligible, and diverse populations.

    + Exceptional oral and written communication skills, energy, and focus, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and utilize data to inform decision-making.

    + Experience preparing, implementing, monitoring and analyzing budgets.

    + Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to admissions and recruitment in higher education, including data practices and FERPA policies and laws.

    Preferred Qualification

    + Bachelor’s degree in higher education administration, business or related field

    + Master’s degree preferred.

    + Work experience in a community college setting.

    + Work experience in the Minnesota State system.

    + Ability to work in and leverage the Slate CRM system.

    + Demonstrated success assessing and developing targeted, diverse student markets.

    + Ability to communicate in multiple languages, Spanish and Hmong desirable.

    + Experience with project management and strategic planning, leading major projects and initiatives from idea through execution and assessment.

    + Experience working in a unionized educational setting.

     

    Work Shift

     

    Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm or 8:00am-4:30pm

     

    Telework
