General Requirements:

Associates degree in related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Two years experience in a related field. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:

Assists faculty with academic and career advising for students in the Department of Engineering Technology and with the promotion of all Engineering Technology programs through outreach, marketing, and communications.

Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only):

Assists faculty with undergraduate academic and career advising for students in the Department of Engineering Technology. Assists with the promotion of all Engineering Technology programs through outreach, marketing, and communications. Meets and interacts with employees, students, routinely and through ExCEL@SAM, Saturday@SAM, Transfer Day, and other events. Assists faculty with providing students with high quality career exploration, guidance, and opportunities to participate in internships, competitions, and other work-based learning (i.e. Engineering Technology Career Day, The Blue Book events, job market reports, and others). Assists faculty and staff in forming ongoing and future industry partnerships and manages all related documents. Assists faculty in managing student clubs and department events (i.e. ET Ambassadors, Annual department award night, Sam Houston Construction Association, and others). Works with Engineering Technology faculties in developing, forming, maintaining, and growing industry advisory boards and collaborates with industry advisory boards. Collaborates with others for the purpose of implementing and maintaining services and programs. Performs other related duties as assigned.
