Description

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Fort Worth, Texas. This role is integral to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, supporting audit processes, and maintaining effective checks and balances across financial systems. Responsibilities:

• Reconcile endowment funds and ensure accurate financial reporting.

• Review and process bank reconciliations, pledged receivables roll forward, and ticket sale reconciliations.

• Identify and implement checks and balances within financial systems to enhance audit readiness.

• Provide support during the annual internal audit process and ensure compliance with fiscal year-end closing requirements.

• Prepare and analyze month-end close activities, including journal entries and general ledger adjustments.

• Conduct account reconciliations to maintain the accuracy of financial records.

• Collaborate with team members to address audit findings and improve operational efficiency.

• Utilize Excel tools such as pivot tables and VLOOKUPs to analyze financial data effectively.

• Ensure adherence to accounting standards and organizational policies.

• Assist in managing financial activities during peak operational seasons from August to May.

Requirements

• Proven experience in month-end close processes, general ledger management, and journal entries.

• Strong skills in account and bank reconciliations.

• Familiarity with annual internal audit procedures, including financial and operational audits.

• Proficiency in Excel

• Excellent communication skills, especially in high-pressure environments.

• Detail-oriented and analytical mindset to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.

• Background in non-profit accounting is highly desirable.
