    A Day in Your Life at MKS:As an Engineering Tech at Power Solutions, you will partner with NPI and Core Engineering to test RF Generators. In this role, you will report to the Sr. Manager of Core Engineering.You Will Make an Impact By:

    + Cable Fabrication and Assembly

    + Fabricate and assemble custom cables and harnesses to precise specifications.

    + Ensure proper shielding, grounding, and connector integrity for high-frequency and high-power applications.

    + RF Generator Assembly and Testing

    + Assemble RF generators from schematics and mechanical drawings.

    + Perform functional and performance testing of RF generators, including tuning, calibration, and troubleshooting.

    + Data Collection and Documentation

    + Accurately document test procedures, results, and anomalies.

    + Maintain organized records of test data, configurations, and revisions using digital tools and spreadsheets.

    + Scripting and Automation for Data Acquisition

    + Develop and maintain scripts (e.g., Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW) to automate data collection and analysis.

    + Interface with lab instruments and data acquisition systems to streamline workflows.

    + Collaboration with Electrical Design Engineers

    + Work closely with electrical engineers to support prototype development, testing, and debugging.

    + Provide feedback on design for manufacturability and testability.

    + Safe Operation in High-Power Lab Environments

    + Operate and maintain equipment involving high voltage and 3-phase power safely and effectively.

    + Follow lab safety protocols and contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

    Skills You Bring:

    + An associate's degree in electronics/electrical systems or 10 plus years of experience in lieu of degree

    + 2-5 years of experience working with high voltage

    + Able to read schematics

    + Python and/or Matlab nice to have

    + Organizational skills

    + Attention to Detail

    + Precision is critical when working with high-power systems and RF equipment. The technician must be meticulous in assembly, testing, and documentation to ensure safety and performance.

    + Problem-Solving Mindset

    + Able to troubleshoot complex electrical and RF issues independently and collaboratively, using both analytical thinking and hands-on experimentation.

    + Adaptability and Initiative

    + Comfortable working in a dynamic lab environment with evolving priorities. Proactively seeks improvements in processes, tools, and documentation.

    + Team-Oriented Communication

    + Works well with engineers and other team members, sharing insights and asking clarifying questions. Communicates clearly and respectfully, especially when discussing technical challenges or safety concerns.

    + Compensation and Benefits:

     

    Pay Range: $32-35/hr is range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
