    Overview

     

    GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB .

     

    With general supervision from the Learning Zone Director, plan, prepare, and conduct all educational and recreational activities for the class assigned on a daily basis.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES .

     

    + Assist the Lead Teacher of the class including implementing the education and recreational programs of the class.

    + Under direction and guidance from the head teacher, work with individual students or small groups.

    + Aid other teachers and staff in group activities of early morning or late afternoon hours.

    + Attend to the physical needs of the children, being alert to any symptoms of illness, as well as careful prevention of accident causing situations.

    + Immediately report any accident involving either a child or a staff member. The report is to be in writing as required by The Salvation Army and The State of Ohio.

    + Attend all Learning Zone staff meetings.

    + Any and all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Learning Zone Director or Area Coordinator.

    + Upholds and represents The Salvation Army in the highest esteem possible.

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE .

     

    + High School graduation or equivalent.

    + Must be pursuing a degree in ECE, ECD, or other related field of study.

    + A strong Salvation Army background is preferred but not required.

     

    SPECIAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS.

     

    As deemed necessary by the ODJFS for state licensing purposes.
