Job Responsibilities:

• Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance.

• Design and develop software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.

• Consult with engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, develop specifications and performance requirements and resolve customer problems.

• Advise customer about, or perform, maintenance of software system.

Skills:

• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage ones time.

• Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery.

• Ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue.

• Knowledge of computer development software, such as SQL, Java, J2EE, etc.

Education/Experience:

• High School Degree and Bachelors degree in computer science/relevant field or equivalent work experience required.

• 4 to 5 years experience required.

Technical Skills: (4+ years of exp is highly preferred)

They should have an understanding of the under-the-covers data transmission between multiple systems and how to test them.

Experience with coordinating with team members representing those other applications.

They should have experience building end to end automation tests across multiple systems.

Automation should not be restricted to UI only testing, so the candidate should demonstrate an ability to leverage java selenium for validating non-UI transactions such as API calls, Database calls, File transmissions, and/or data retrieval from offline files.

The tester should also be familiar with developing java selenium tests and integrating them into a devops CI/CD pipeline leveraging Jenkins so that the tests are re-executed during each deployment.
