    Job Title: Automation Controls Engineer

    Job Description

    The Automation Controls Engineer will collaborate with customers to identify their requirements and then design, configure, commission, and qualify control systems and software programs to fulfill these needs.

    Responsibilities

    + Lead projects with small to medium-sized teams on Rockwell platforms.

    + Assist the Project Manager in identifying changes in project scope and developing change orders.

    + Understand the project scope and schedule thoroughly.

    + Translate functional requirements into system configurations.

    + Design control systems’ network architectures and control strategies.

    + Serve as a technical contact for customers.

    + Demonstrate competence in one or more control systems platforms or industrial processes.

    + Adapt to new technologies by applying learned concepts and functionality.

    + Interface with clients during design meetings and conference calls.

    + Guide less experienced engineers and follow directions from the project manager or lead engineer.

    + Program controllers using Rockwell and Siemens technologies.

    + Design electrical control cabinets and panels.

    + Test system configurations to verify functions.

    + Travel to client sites for project meetings and system commissioning.

    Essential Skills

    + Expertise in automation, PLC programming, troubleshooting, and control systems.

    + Proficiency in electrical design and system commissioning.

    + Experience with FactoryTalk, ControlLogix, Rockwell, and Siemens PLC.

    + 3-10 years of experience in automation.

     

    -B.S. in Electrical, Chemical, or Computer Engineering or Engineering Technology or related degree

    -As a minimum, must be at least proficient on one or more of the following platforms:

    -Rockwell Controllogix

     

    -Rockwell PlantPAx

    -Rockwell FactoryTalk View/Studio

    +Experience on other control system platforms is a plus.

     

    -Thorough understanding of control system design and coding

     

    -Self-motivated, excellent communication skills, and enjoy working with people

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Computer Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.

    + Proficiency in at least one of the following platforms: Rockwell ControlLogix, Rockwell PlantPAx, Rockwell FactoryTalk View/Studio.

    + Experience with other control system platforms is a plus.

    + Thorough understanding of control system design.

    + Strong communication skills.

    + Ability to work effectively in a team.

     

    Work Environment

     

    This role requires 25%-50% travel, with the potential for increased compensation if open to more travel.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $51.00/hr.
