    We’re looking for a Java Practice Architect 1 with extensive AWS platform services experience.

    Here’s what the opportunity supported through our TGS Talent Acquisition Team requires:

    The role of Java Practice Architect involves the design and implementation of complex software architecture solutions, providing direction and support to development teams. This position requires a high level of software and Java development expertise and a proven track record in leadership and architectural planning. The architect will be responsible for ensuring the scalability, security, and performance of applications while fostering effective communication and collaboration within the team. Additionally, the architect should demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, a commitment to continuous learning, and an aptitude for prioritizing tasks to deliver timely, high-quality results.

     

    Required Education and Experience

     

    + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

    + 10+ years in software development

    + 7+ years in Java development

    + 3+ years as a Java Practice Architect - (Intermediate Level)

    + 3+ years of AWS application development; ES3, Lambda, S3, etc.

    Key Accountabilities

    + Design, document, and own the technical direction for the implementation of components for software solutions

    + Participate in software estimation, planning, design, and delivery with the development team.

    + Mentor team members in design, coding, and software practices

    + Ensure adherence to organizational architectural standards

    + Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle

    + Lead initial architecture elaboration and non-functional requirements collection

    + Promote governance of standards across software projects

    + Engage in pre-sales activities, including proposed architecture development and effort estimation

    + Create designs for features and major enhancements

    + Ensure the performance and reliability of products/components

    + Conduct thorough code reviews

    + Innovate and conduct technical sessions

    + Participate in Scrum ceremonies

     

    Technical Expertise

     

    Java Application Architect

     

    + Understanding of various software architecture patterns and best practices

    + Advanced hands-on Java coding skills and creating Proof-of-Concepts

    + Experience with Java application servers, J2EE design and implementation, Spring Framework (Core, Boot, MVC, Kafka, etc.)

    + Knowledge of industry-standard practices and design patterns for SOAP and RESTful Web Services

    + Implementation of practices such as unit testing, static analysis

    + Familiarity with relational databases, Spring, Hibernate/JPA

    + Java tools such as JUnit, Mockito, EhCache, JSPs, Servlets, Apache Tomcat

    + Experience with JavaScript and TypeScript frameworks/libraries such as Angular, React, Node.js

     

    AWS Cloud

     

    + Proficiency in cloud technologies, including AWS services.

    + Experience building DevOps pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) implementations using tools such as GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Terraform, AWS CDK, Jenkins, etc.

    + Experience with various types of integration patterns, including messaging integration patterns involving Kafka and message queues

    + Proficiency in developing and deploying using containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes

    + Knowledge of other coding languages such as Groovy, Ruby, Scala, and Python

    + Research and self-learning of new concepts

    + Expertise in handling incidents and change requests

    + Task prioritization for timely, high-quality solutions

    + Adequate documentation and design of complex software

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $128000.00 - $180000.00/yr.

     

    • Bonus information: Enter annual bonus potential - Bonuses are paid out at the end of the year and are tied to a percentage of personal and company’s performance. • Benefits: Health insurance Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO - 100 percent coverage for well visits, Individual and family options, Dental and vision options, Health savings account with annual company contribution, Coverage begins within 30 days of employment • Time off: 20 days annually plus six company holidays; After three years of employment, increases to 23 days annually plus six company holidays • Retirement savings: 401(k) with matching contribution; Profit-sharing • Tuition reimbursement: Up to a maximum of $5,250 annually for eligible courses/programs
