Job Description:

Canyons Technical Education Center (CTEC) is seeking a skilled and passionate WeldingInstructor to join our team.

This position offers an opportunity to train and inspire the next generation of welders in a hands-on, technical learning environment.

Key Responsibilities: • Instruct students in welding techniques, safety procedures, blueprint reading, and metal fabrication. • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with industry standards, AWSSense certification requirements. • Align standards with SLCC and Weber State concurrent enrollment coursework; this position will be offering concurrent enrollment credit to students. • Demonstrate proper use of welding equipment, including GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, and SMAW welding processes as well as OFC, PAC, and CAC thermal cutting processes. • Ensure a safe and productive learning environment in both classroom and shop settings. • Assess student progress, provide feedback, and support career development. • Maintain equipment and supplies, ensuring all meet safety regulations. • Collaborate with industry partners to align training with workforce needs.

Qualifications: • Must be able to qualify for a Welding Technician Associate Level Endorsement by meeting one of the options found on the Welding Technician Application Form • AWS Certification (CWI/CWE) preferred but not required. • Teaching experience or a willingness to obtain instructor certification thorough the APPEL • Strong knowledge of welding processes, metallurgy, and blueprint reading. • Excellent communication and classroom management skills. • Commitment to student success and workforce development.
