    The Department of Media & Entertainment is where technology, theory, and practice meet to create innovative and professional content for consumers. Our department offers courses across the broad media and entertainment landscape, including social media, video and film, media design, advertising, radio/podcasting and sound engineering, public relations, multimedia journalism, sports media, event production, talent management, and media and entertainment business.     Description of Job

    The Department of Media & Entertainment (MAE) is seeking new adjunct faculty in Interactive/Immersive Media beginning August 2025.

     

    The responsibilities of the part-time adjunct instructor position include teaching quality courses in Media & Entertainment. We are looking for qualified individuals who can teach in Interactive and Immersive Media (i.e., wireframing, XR design, immersive/interactive content, coding, and gaming). The ability to fluently use Apple and Windows computer systems, Adobe applications, web-based content, industry standard equipment, and other software is essential for this position.     The selected candidate for this in-person, on-campus position will teach baccalaureate level courses in the Media & Entertainment program in accordance with program needs, and will perform the following duties:

    **All responsibilities of faculty members at CSU Pueblo are in accordance with the Faculty Handbook (https://www.csupueblo.edu/faculty-senate/\_doc/faculty-handbook-revised-summer-2021.pdf) . The Faculty Handbook is the authoritative guide on specific requirements with regard to teaching assignments, scholarly activity, research, and service.

    Specific duties include:

    + preparing and presenting course materials according to department curricular needs;

    + assessing student performance;

    + preparing, administering, and grading assignments;

    + mentoring students and/or student media area as needed;

    + holding office hours;

    + attend department meetings as needed;

    + assigning final grades.

     

    Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Bachelor's level degree

    + Significant relevant professional experience (5+ years) and/or a post-baccalaureate certificate in relevant field

    + Technological fluency appropriate for assigned courses

    + Experience teaching OR training

    Preferred Qualifications

    + A Master’s or terminal degree in media, entertainment, digital communications, or related field

    + Significant relevant professional experience

    + Technological expertise appropriate for assigned courses

    + Experience teaching in post-secondary environments or with professional training in the industry

     

    Compensation

     

    $785 - $1000 per credit hour, depending on education, experience, and attendance at departmental meetings (as needed).
