Position Specific Description

Job Title:** **Manager of Data Science,** **Business Management Transformation

Job Overview

NextEra is seeking a **Manager of Data Science** to join the newly formed Transformation Office within the Business Management organization. Business Management owns the P&L for the world’s largest portfolio of renewable assets and is responsible for ensuring these assets meet financial commitments.

This includes:

+ Acting as the CEO of the assets

+ Driving optimal commercial and regulatory outcomes

+ Maximizing revenue and optimizing operational performance

This leader will **spearhead advanced modeling, simulation, and analytics initiatives** to enable smarter investment, maintenance, and operational decisions, **working closely with finance and operations** to build scalable predictive and optimization models that drive enterprise-wide transformation.

Key Responsibilities

+ **Develop and deploy advanced** **forecasting models** , simulations (e.g., Monte Carlo), and optimization algorithms for capital and operational planning.

+ **Lead and develop data-driven initiatives across** predictive maintenance, asset performance, and total cost of ownership modeling.

+ **Partner with finance and transformation teams** to translate models into business-relevant insights and strategies.

+ **Communicate technical insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders** and participate in cross-functional decision-making.

Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.

+ 5+ years of experience building statistical models, simulations, or optimization tools in a business setting.

+ Proficiency in Python, R, or Julia, and experience with libraries such as scikit-learn, or PyMC.

+ Experience with Monte Carlo simulations, time-series data, and operational optimization.

+ Experience working with large datasets and cloud-based analytics environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Databricks).

+ Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills; able to align technical work with business objectives.

Job Overview

This job will use business management consulting skills to work with internal clients through all stages of strategy-based transformation engagements.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

+ Provides thought leadership and execution support on client assignments to craft strategy

+ Conducts both client and market development to grow the business

+ Consults with clients to identify, clarify, and solve problems critical to clients' strategy and operating success

+ Develops conclusions and recommendations, writes reports, assists in client presentations and provides implementation assistance as required

+ Constructs the analytical framework and work steps for each assignment, and leads the problem solving process associated

+ Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

+ High School Grad / GED

+ Bachelor's Degree

+ Experience:8+ years

+ Supervisor/Management Experience:2+ years
