    ABOUT THE ROLE

    Amrize, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a Utility Operator to support operations at the Asphalt plant in Severn, MD. The position is primarily responsible for maintaining the grounds and operating equipment to include sweeping, shoveling, and performing light maintenance such as cleaning and lubricating parts. This incumbent will travel up to 50% of the time from different plant locations throughout Prince George's County and Anne Arundel County. The position will also perform pre and post-trip inspections throught the pant as well as equipment, such as a rubber tire loaders, escavators, or bobcats prior to and after operation.

    WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

    + Safely operate loaders, skid steers, forklifts, and other machinery to move raw materials and maintain stockpiles.

    + Assist the plant operator in managing material flow, monitoring temperatures, and maintaining continuous production.

    + Lubricate bearings, inspect belts, check fluid levels, and perform routine maintenance on plant and mobile equipment.

    + Identify and troubleshoot mechanical problems on conveyors, pumps, motors, or mobile equipment; assist in repairs.

    + Perform daily walkarounds and safety checks on all assigned machinery and tools before use.

    + Help load trucks with hot mix asphalt, verify correct mix types, and ensure trucks are safely and properly filled.

    + Clean up spillage, clear blockages, and maintain a tidy and hazard-free work environment around the plant.

    + Comply with company policies, wear appropriate PPE, and adhere to all OSHA and environmental requirements.Monitor Material Inventory Levels

    + Willing to work overtime, weekends, nights, and in varying weather conditions to support plant operations and maintenance.

    WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

    **Education:** High School Diploma or Equivalent

    **Field of Study Preferred:** N/A

    **Required Work Experience:** 6 months to a year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

    **Travel Requirements:** Up to 50%

    + Proven ability to safely operate loaders, skid steers, and other material-handling equipment on construction or plant sites.

    + Understanding of plant mechanics, including conveyor belts, motors, pumps, and the ability to assist with troubleshooting and minor repairs.

    + Experience working in or around asphalt, concrete, or aggregate plants, with knowledge of material flow and batching systems

    + Able to perform labor-intensive tasks, lift heavy materials, and work in extreme weather or around hot asphalt.

    + Ability to spot issues with equipment, material flow, or quality before they escalate into larger problems.

    + Willingness to take on a variety of tasks—loading, cleaning, maintenance—and shift between duties as needed.

    + A can-do approach, good attitude on tough jobs, and a mindset that contributes to a productive and respectful crew environment.

    Additional Requirements:

    + Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
