**Schedule:** Full Time, 36 hours/week
Shift:** **M-F 7pm 7:30am; Sa-Su - 8pm 6:30am
The role youll contribute:
Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. The primary responsibility is the provision of medication distributive functions and pharmacy operational tasks. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting the pharmacist with all duties of preparing and dispensing of medications, inventory management, and regulatory compliance. Performs duties necessary for the effective daily operation of all department services and programs. Accurately responds to medication dispensing requests, prepares medications for pharmacist final review/check, delivers checked medications, and returns unused or expired medications to appropriate pharmacy areas. Prepares and organizes pharmacy medications by name and dosage, as listed on patient orders. Supports pharmacists and provides distributive pharmacy services to ensure safe and accurate medication services, supporting all those involved in direct patient care.

+ Pharmacy Operations * Actively performs all pharmacy technician functions and maintains active proficiency in standard work parameters, hospital and pharmacy specific computer systems, and operational programs * Maintains operational expertise and competency and actively provides coverage of at least two of the following: * Central/distributive pharmacy operations * Sterile compounding * Decentral/ Automated Dispensing Cabinet delivery pharmacy operations * Controlled substance Handling
+ AND at least one of the following: * Hazardous Medication Sterile Compounding * Quality Assurance & USP required sampling * Technician Inventory Check (i.e., tech check tech where authorized) * Medication History * Supporting Clinical Services * Purchasing and Inventory Management -OR-
+ Maintains knowledge of the following: * Central/Distributive Pharmacy * IV Room/Sterile compounding * Decentral/ Automated Dispensing Cabinet delivery pharmacy operations * Controlled Substances handling
+ AND Performs primary job function as: * Medication History technician OR Inventory specialist * Participates in appropriate utilization of medication automation, technology, and computer systems. Maintains expertise in electronic health record system and be able to accurately interpret electronic records as needed * Accurately completes medication inventories and accurately prepares and dispenses patientspecific medication doses. Prevents improper drug, dose, dosage form selection, expiration dating, and barcode scanning issues when checking products * Performs oral and injectable compounding, if applicable * Carries out special projects or assignments as directed by supervisor or manager * Understands how to handle process and appropriately dispose of all waste materials, including all levels of hazardous waste, within the department. Knowledgeable about the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Hazardous Medication Spill Kits in the event of a hazardous medication spill.
+ Pharmacy Practice * Facilitates medication safety practices by identifying and reporting potential medication errors such as look-alike sound-alike medications. * Prepares and delivers medication in an accurate, safe and timely manner
+ Teamwork and Inter-Professional Collaboration * Presents to assigned areas on time and ready to work and does not exhibit unscheduled absenteeism * Assures continuity of care between shifts, among pharmacy staff assignments, and across pharmacy practice areas * Works effectively with all members of the healthcare team to ensure the best outcome for the patient * Demonstrates sensitivity to the perspective of the patient, caregiver, or health care colleague in all communications * Actively supports teammates (pharmacists, technicians, managers) * Uses effective negotiation skills to resolve conflicts * Demonstrates through behavior AdventHealth's service standards of Own It, Make It Easy, Love Me, and Keep Me Safe.
+ Teaching, Training, Precepting, and Mentorship * Mentors new-staff and assists with training * Precepts and mentors pharmacy student rotations and actively engages in student learning experiences, if applicable * Supports pharmacy residency experiences, if applicable * Determines and finalizes competency * Demonstrates desire and aptitude for instructing, modeling, and coaching others
+ Quality Improvement, Regulatory Compliance, and Accreditation * Supports and participates in medicationuse process improvements led by colleagues and peers * Supports regulatory compliance initiatives and supports institutional accreditation processes

Qualifications
The expertise and experiences youll need to succeed:
+ High School Grad or Equiv Required
+ 2 years experience Required
+ Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date Required
+ **One or more of the following REQUIRED** : Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date OR Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
