Responsibilities
The Senior Specialist, EH&S is responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations within the workplace. This role involves identifying risks, implementing safety programs, conducting training, and promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility. The Senior Specialist, EH&S, will work closely with management and employees to ensure a safe and sustainable work environment.
Health & Safety Compliance
+ Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations. Serve as primary site liaison between facility and regulatory agencies.
+ Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
+ Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective actions.
+ Develop, implement, and maintain EHS processes, safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
+ Coordinate emergency response plans and drills.
Environmental Management
+ Monitor environmental compliance related to waste management, emissions, and sustainability initiatives.
+ Ensure proper disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
+ Assist in implementing environmental programs to reduce the company’s carbon footprint.
Training & Employee Engagement
+ Develop and deliver EHS training sessions for employees and management.
+ Promote a positive safety culture through awareness programs and initiatives.
+ Assemble an ERT (Emergency Response Team) and train to respond to EHS situations. Hold frequent meetings to assess site’s situational readiness.
Reporting & Documentation
+ Maintain and update EHS records, reports, and documentation
+ Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders on EHS performance.
+ Ensure proper documentation of safety incidents and regulatory compliance activities.
+ Collaborate with Human Resources (as needed) for any EHS related situations.
Continuous Improvement
+ Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory changes.
+ Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance workplace safety.
Qualifications
Qualifications
+ Bachelors degree in technical discipline (occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental science, or engineering or equivalent).
+ 5+ years of experience implementing EH&S programs and processes in a complex manufacturing and/or distribution setting.
+ Must have strong substantive knowledge of regulations and guidance promulgated by Federal and State OSHA and EPA, as well as workers’ compensation requirements.
+ Relevant EHS certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, ISO 45001, ISO 14001) are highly desirable.
+ Experience with risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits.

Pay / Compensation
The expected pre-tax pay rate for this position is $85,250 - $114,400 per year. Actual pay may fluctuate outside of the listed range depending on skills, education, experience, job-related knowledge and location.
