    The Chemours Titanium Technology facility located in New Johnsonville, Tennessee has openings for Senior Operators. The primary responsibility of this role is to perform all functions associated with operating and maintaining the operating equipment and processes within the area. Must be able to maintain safety standards at all times and initiate and follow emergency procedures when necessary.

    The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

    + Operate manual valves, perform minor maintenance activity, perform analytical work in field labs, and ensure equipment is safe to operate. Monitor and operate equipment and facilities; including field equipment that ensure quality and conformance with standard operating procedures.

    + Safety compliance is paramount in this role. All chemical operators must adhere to job procedures, safety protocols, and quality policies to ensure a safe working environment. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), following proper procedures for handling hazardous materials, and actively participating in safety training programs. Regular safety audits and adherence to safety procedures, such as confined space entry, lock out tag out protocols, and emergency response, are essential to maintain operational safety and integrity.

    + Operate process units to handle hazardous and non-hazardous materials using standard job procedures. This includes operating valves, pumps, blowers, compressors, burners, screws, eductors, computer systems, and other process equipment.

    + Complete daily operator rounds/inspections which include patrolling and inspecting area for needed repairs, writing daily shift notes, generating work orders for repair needs, constructing barricades for any observed potential hazards, reviewing/revising SJP’s and ordering area supplies, and more.

    + Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on process equipment, using mechanical knowledge, equipment specification and manufacturer literature to restore operation.

    + Complete routine housekeeping tasks, including equipment and grounds cleaning.

    + Collect process material samples and perform field analysis. Enter sample results into the appropriate system. Calibrate in-area lab equipment as needed.

    + Prepare for confined space entry, lock out tag out, hot work permits, and line breaks. Ensure equipment is ready for maintenance by purging, draining, isolating, and locking out.

    + Troubleshoot and restore equipment using mechanical knowledge, specification sheets, and manufacturer literature.

    + Once fully trained, provide peer coaching and training for new Operator personnel and trainees. This includes providing trainee evaluation and feedback to Team Managers.

    + Operate forklifts and other motive equipment.

    + Respond to emergency operations, including emergency operations center or field emergency response team (EOC/ERT) to manage emergency conditions.

    + This role begins on a 40-hour day schedule before transitioning to a 12-hour rotating shift schedule. In addition to the 12- hour rotating shift schedule, overtime hours are required.

     

    Candidates may be selected to complete online and onsite assessments as part of the hiring process. To be further considered, candidates must meet assessment requirements. Job relocation and/or travel assistance will not be available for this opportunity.

    In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

    + High School Diploma/GED equivalent.

    + Possess a mechanical aptitude.

    + Must be willing and able to work a 12hr rotating shift.

    + Must be willing and able to frequently lift and move objects weighing up to 50lbs.

    + Must be willing and able to wear a respirator and other PPE, including acid suits.

    + Must be willing and able to climb multiple flights of stairs, including fixed ladders.

    + Must be willing and able to work in all weather conditions.

    + Must be willing and able to work in and around small/confined spaces.

    + Capable of learning quickly and working in a team environment.
