    Budget Title: Senior Staff Assistant (SL-3)

     

    Salary: $60,000 - $65,000 (commensurate with experience)

     

    Binghamton University seeks applicants for a Senior Staff Assistant in the Innovative Simulation and Practice Center, which falls under the Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and for the Interprofessional Education Program.

     

    This Individual will report to the Assistant Dean of Simulation and Practice and the Director of Interpersonal Education with a dotted line report to the Assistant Director of Innovative Simulation and Practice.

     

    Innovative Simulation and Practice Center (ISPC)

     

    + Provides comprehensive support for the Innovative Simulation and Practice Center (ISPC) within the Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences, enabling the efficiency and effectiveness of the program.

    + Serves as a representative of the programs to the administrative units within the college and the university.

    + Plans and implements special event programs.

    + Collaborates with Assistant Dean of Simulation and Clinical Practice, Assistant Director, faculty and staff.

    + Maintains updated schedules and works closely with the ISPC and IPE calendar with attention to detail and problem resolution as required.

    + Initiates and manages systems for organizing documents, records, files, related to students and the work of the ISPC and IPE in a confidential manner.

    + Processes travel and expense reports.

    + Assists the Assistant Dean, Assistant Director, faculty, and staff with the development of annual statistical reports for outside agencies.

    + Assists the Assistant Dean, Assistant Director, faculty, and staff with the development of reports and site preparation for program accreditation.

    + Provides faculty with essential materials for activity preparation.

    + Manages ISPC legal contracts, accreditation documents, and related files.

    + Collaborates with the Assistant Dean, Assistant Director, faculty and staff to keep accurate and up to date records of ISPC Inventory, supplies, and equipment use.

    + Responsible for supervision of ISPC undergraduate and graduate student staff.

    + Coordinates with Assistant Dean, Assistant Director, and ISPC faculty to effectively and efficiently delegate tasks and assignments to ISPC student staff.

    + Provides comprehensive administrative support to ISPC related programs within the Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

    + Schedules, attends, and takes minutes for committee meetings.

     

    Interprofessional Education Committee (IPE)

     

    + Provides comprehensive support for the Interprofessional Education Program.

    + Coordinates with Director of IPE, IPE faculty, and IPE Program Committee members to develop, schedule, and support IPE Program Committee meetings and events.

    + Plans and implements special event programming as required, with attention to detail and problem resolution as required.

    + Works collaboratively in a team environment with the school, the college, and university colleagues, including the Provost's Office, Decker College Dean's Office, Interprofessional Education Committee, and other valuable university stakeholders.

    + Coordinates work study related activities for the IPE Graduate Assistant.

    + Serves as a representative of the programs to the administrative units within the college and the university.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    + Detailed oriented, with the ability to manage and adapt to multiple tasks with changing priorities.

    + Ability to problem solve and think creatively.

    + Effective interpersonal skills.

    + Ability to collaborate and effectively communicate complex material with a diverse group of individuals including faculty, staff, senior administrators, industry partners, students and visitors.

    + Effective oral and written communication skills.

    + Technical expertise in business management tools including spreadsheets, word processing, calendar tools, and presentation software.

    Job Requirements:

    + Bachelor's degree

    + Minimum of three years of related experience

    + Proven office administration and customer service skills

    + Effective organization skills with a proven track record of simultaneously managing multiple projects with varying priority levels

    + Effective verbal and written communications skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Knowledge of Binghamton University campus and operational systems

    + Work experience using social media

    + Proficiency with editing/updating web-based information and databases
