    Position Summary

    Senior Merchandising Analysts are internal consultants for the Merchandising department. They manage the analytic data for the business decision processes and provide a statistical and financial foundation for merchandising decisions regarding product placement.

    Key Responsibilities

    Involved in cross-functional teams developing strategic planning and specific corporate initiatives. Must be a catalyst for change and drive process improvement. Some of the responsibilities of the position are:

     

    + Provide advanced analytical support for cross-functional teams to coordinate ongoing processes or activities that cross organizational boundaries

    + Manage Micro-merchandising of Automobile Parts (MAP) processes

    + Use the MAP Portal as the platform and collaborate with category managers, supply chain managers, and store operations to get the assortment to stores

    + Review, validate, and manipulate large-scale data to expand understanding throughout the organization and to support departmental and executive decision making

    + Monitor the MAP Portal activities related to all complex parts fog updates

    + Ensure the smooth workflow of the lift cycle of all fog updates

    + Coordinate and facilitate the migration of the assortment tools from SAS to GCP and support the continuous process improvement

    + Lead the development of MAP, MAP3, Store Refresh, and Dynamic Adds in GCP

    + Train the developers from the MAP support team and the store modeling team to migrate existing tools on time

    + Coordinate with IT departments to resolve the incidents and challenges

    + Research and implement large scale optimization techniques and data science to improve on optimal stocking decisions in MAP

    + Work directly with Directors/VPs to design analysis and address needs on strategic projects.

    + Support line review meetings and follow up on strategic projects initiated by category managers and directors

    Skills and Requirements

    + 3 years of experience in an analytical role with sufficient experience to demonstrate a thorough understanding of retailing

    + Proficient in SAS (Base, SQL, Macro), Google Cloud Computing, Machine Learning, Python, and Linux commands

    + Must be a self-starter and motivated to complete projects promptly and accurately

    + Proficiency in Excel and excellent verbal and written communication skills, including effectively collaborating with colleagues and clients

     

    Finally, incumbents in this position are expected to possess the ability to think creatively and work effectively with teams of professionals engaged in tackling real-world business problems of retailing.
