    Summary:

    KBR is a dynamic solutions provider to governmental and commercial customers globally. To support these solutions, KBR has a globally structured information technology (IT) team to enable the success of project execution and KBR’s overall enterprise objectives.

     

    The Corporate IT Accounting Manager will directly interface with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Accounting & Finance professionals across KBR to serve as the primary contact for all matters relating to KBR’s IT financials. Key focus areas include full understanding, documentation, and general ledger coding/financial statement presentation of IT’s:

     

    + Capital Asset Requisitions

    + Fixed Assets

    + Prepaid Expenses

    + Leases

    + Cost Allocations

    + Cost Recoveries

    + Procurement activities

    + Cash Flow statement

    The position requires the ability to partner among many team members, including:

    + Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to ensure precise Budget and Forecasts by IT initiative and cost element. Analyzing and authoring variance analysis at both a detailed and executive-level is required.

    + KBR’s segment accounting & finance teams for impacts of corporate IT costs on segment financials. This includes how IT costs are allocated across the organization for US Government, International Government, and Commercial contracts.

     

    Personal traits, such as planning and organization, strong analytic and proficient oral and written communications skills, and a collaborative personality, are required. Technical abilities include experience with Costpoint, Oracle EPM and other ERP software (SAP and Dynamics), Excel / Word / Access proficiency, and a broad understanding of GAAP.

     

    Working Model: Hybrid – In office (KBR headquarters) as required/directed

     

    Must reside in Houston, TX

     

    Reports to Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    + The position requires leadership and direct manager oversight of employees and is responsible for work assignments, performance reviews, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.

    + Lead the implementation and development of new procedures and features to improve the workflow of the organization and provide training for new or existing staff if necessary.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    + Manage and oversee Corporate IT Accounting functional areas

    + Review IT accruals, reclass and direct billing/intercompany work order (IWO) entries required for IT costs allocations

    + Approval of journal entries for accruals, various corporate cost allocations.

    + Owns the review and analysis of KBR IT’s financial activities impacting the Corporate Income Statement, Balance Sheet, & Cash Flow. Must be able to ensure accuracy and completeness in addition to making recommendations for cost efficiencies and financial excellence.

    + Review of monthly/quarterly reports and analysis to external reporting and internal/external auditors and respond regarding periodic information requests.

    + Support Corporate planning, budgeting and forecasting for Corporate IT.

    + Manage and provide guidance related to the IT Fixed Asset & Lease Accounting Process

    + Participate with Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis manager in month-end close financial review meetings for Corporate IT and IT portfolios.

    + Participate in month-end close financial review meeting for KBR Corporate

    + Drive and lead continuously improving and automating accounting and reporting initiatives.

    + Review and approve reconciliations and analysis

    Qualifications, Skills, and Behaviors

    + Accounting Degree required (advanced degree or CPA preferred)

    + 6+ years of experience in a general accounting environment preferably with a large corporation or auditing a large corporation required

    + 3+ years of experience with managing/leading teams required

    + Experience in planning, budgeting and forecasting preferred

    + Experience with Deltek Costpoint, SAP, Hyperion HFM, Microsoft Dynamics or Apptio preferred

    + Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to effectively work cross-functionally, and with all levels of management.

    + Excellent oral and written communication skills.

    + Strong analytic skills and demonstrated ability to plan and organize.

    + Capable of multi-tasking, prioritizing, and leading teams and initiatives
